Based in one of the most vibrant and sought after locations in Victoria, Wangaratta has it all from easy access to the mountains in winter for snow skiing to a short drive to the majestic Murray river which offers water skiing, fishing or just a relaxing wine or beer in the shade of a tree on the banks of the river. With historic towns to explore such as Beechworth and Rutherglen, Wangaratta is the jewel of Victoria. Our client is a very well respected, professional and established company that works on high end residential housing and also does some commercial building work. Due to their continuing growth, an opportunity has now arisen to take on a motivated and proactive individual to complete an Apprenticeship in Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining.

 

About the Role

This is a career-start opportunity leading to an industry recognised qualification with the opportunity to develop your skills on the job in a team environment.

The successful candidate will be trained in all aspects of ceiling and wall plastering with your duties including:

• Fixing and setting
• Cornice handling
• White setting
• Erecting and dismantling scaffolding
• Clean and maintain tools
• Safe work practices
• Create mortar mix for perfect applications

 

This is an entry level position and applicable award wages will apply.

 

About you

The person we seek will be reliable, honest, trustworthy and will be physically fit and able to perform manual tasks. They also must be able to understand and act on instructions, take pride in their work and have an eye for detail. This person will be able to work individually and also as part of a team .

You will require a strong work ethic and a high level of motivation to successfully complete the practical and theory based components of your Apprenticeship.

 

Training Requirements

As part of this Apprenticeship, you will undertake Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling lining. A commitment to completing on and off the job training requirements of this Apprenticeship is necessary. 

Please note that relevant RTO/Training fees are covered by Kestrel.

 

What you will be provided

Throughout the duration of this Apprenticeship, you will be provided with ongoing support by your Consultant at Kestrel which will include career advice, pay enquiries, performance appraisals, etc.
